Fritter Hollow

Small conversations, music, stories, and odd ideas from Edmonton.

A podcast and creative room where Derek and Dan record conversations, chase sparks, and follow the threads that seem worth following.

Fritter Hollow is a small creative room in Edmonton where conversations, songs, stories, half built ideas, and odd little plans are allowed to turn into something. It started as a place to write and record music, but it has slowly become a meeting spot, a podcast table, a tiny production room, and maybe the beginning of something stranger.

The podcast is Derek and Dan figuring that out in real time. Sometimes that means talking about music, media, local events, AI, small business, storytelling, or how to turn a cluttered room full of gear into a place where something can happen. Sometimes it means chasing a thought until it becomes a possible show, performance, interview, project, or bad idea worth trying anyway.

We are interested in people who are doing things, making things, thinking about things, or carrying around stories they have not quite found a place for yet. Musicians, writers, speakers, builders, obsessives, organizers, local characters, curious people, people with a strange topic they care about too much, that sort of thing.

This is not a polished media empire. Not yet, anyway. It is more like a lab with microphones. We record conversations, look for sparks, and follow the threads that seem worth following. Sometimes the conversation itself becomes an episode. Sometimes it points toward a future podcast series, a small event, a performance, a documentary idea, or some other project we would not have found without talking first.

So if you like good conversation, local creative energy, unfinished ideas, or the feeling that something interesting might happen if the right people end up in the same room, Fritter Hollow is probably for you. Come listen, come talk, or come see what we are accidentally building.

Derek from Fritter Hollow

Curious about songs, stories, people, audio, and what happens when unfinished ideas are allowed to keep talking.

Dan from Fritter Hollow

Dan

A longtime media, music, and production guy with a good ear, a practical streak, and a suspicious amount of recording gear.
